There's a new president of the local chapter of the Association of the United States Army.
Dothan Mayor Chester Sowell has moved up from vice president to president of AUSA.
It was announced last night at the 229th Army birthday celebration and annual banquet in Fort Rucker. Six hundred people, including Alabama elected officials and business leaders attended the event.
Mayor Sowell says continuing the growth of the chapter is his main goal as president.
Mayor Sowell will serve as president of AUSA for the next twelve months.
