Getting a free copy of your credit report is going to get easier.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act, in effect since last December, requires the three credit reporting agencies to provide consumers a free copy of their credit report upon request.
Now, the Federal Trade Commission says there must be one central location where consumers can make that request.
By December of this year, a website, a toll-free number and a postal address will be established for those requests.
