A local organization is working to help reduce the number of unwanted animals in the area.
Save-A-Pet is launching a spay and neuter campaign, targeted at pet owners. The campaign is called "millions of sweet faces and not enough places."
The organization is trying to decrease the number of animals euthanized here in Houston County.
Averages of 8 to 10 animals are put down at the Dothan Animal Shelter every day
Barbie Nowel with Save-A-Pet said, "Our goal is to educate people in the community about the need to spay and neuters were launching an awareness campaign we've got billboards going up and we're putting counter cards in all the vets offices and any business that will."
You should start seeing those billboards around town in Dothan as early as this week.
