A team of medical experts is headed to Fort Bragg in North Carolina to look into possible health reasons for a recent series of domestic killings.
The Army said the scientists are looking at a wide range of issues, including soldiers' use of an anti-malaria medication.
But they'll also look into cultural issues and other factors not unique to Fort Bragg, like the Army's family education programs and support services.
Four Fort Bragg troops allegedly killed their wives this summer, and two of them then killed themselves. Three of the four were special operations troops who had recently returned from Afghanistan.
There's been some recent speculation about the drug Lariam, which carries rare reported side effects -- including agitation, depression and aggression. The Army isn't saying whether the soldiers involved were taking the drug.
