Public school pupils will be able to carry cell phones at school.
Gov. Jeb Bush made it so when he signed into law a bill passed by the Legislature earlier this year.
The regulation of cell phones and other wireless devices was previously left to the discretion of the school districts.
Under the law, school boards would set the rules for their usage on school grounds. For instance, a district could require pupils to leave the cell phones in their lockers.
