Houston County Commissioners are voting Monday whether to grant an extension for the courthouse renovation project.
Clark Construction Company officials wanted an extension until August without paying a $500 a day penalty for missing the deadline.
The project was to be completed the end of April.
County Commissioners rejected the appeal for an extension, meaning the $500-a-day fine will be accessed from May 1.
The fine is already $20,000 and will go up $500 each day until the courthouse renovation is complete.
