Police are looking for a Geneva County man considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Authorities say Phenico Hornsby walked into a home in the Bellwood Community. He then reportedly struck the occupant, Carla Lick, repeatedly with a pipe while she slept.
The Lick's children escaped from the home and alerted neighbors.
After Lick was transported to a hospital, the home burst into flames.
Emergency responders first thought the suspect was still inside, but he managed to escape.
Area residents say they won't sleep until Hornsby is taken into custody.
Resident Ann Green said, "I know him, but I worry for my 93-year-old grandmother. There are a lot of other elderly people living in this area; I’m concerned about them as well. He’s dangerous, but I know him."
Hornsby is 42-year-old. He's about 5’10 inches tall and weighs around 170-pounds.
If you see him, call your local law enforcement agency immediately.
