More Reward Offered in Griffin Murder

The reward for information about the murder of a local businessman has grown to $17,000.

Police say two masked men armed with a shotgun robbed 37-year-old Perry Griffin outside Panhandle Converter and Scrap Company on Beverley Road early Tuesday morning.

He was killed during a struggle over the gun.

Griffin's company is offering a $10,000 reward for information in the case.

Crimestoppers is adding another $1,000 and a competing business in Mississippi is also putting up $1,000.

Also, an anonymous donor has agreed to add another $5,000 to the reward money.
