Police say there have been nearly 100 "reported" gas station drive-offs in the past year. That’s why many gas stations now require customers to pay for gas before they pump.
Dothan police say gas drive offs have always been a problem in the Circle City.
But a few years ago they decided not to respond to drive-offs unless there is a description of the vehicle, tag or person.
So many drive-offs go without being reported.
Officials say they also see more drive-offs during the summer because more people are on the road.
