A newly formed downtown Dothan redevelopment committee has big plans for the area, but they say it won't be easy.
Former circle city Mayor Jimmy Grant spoke with Kiwanis Club members Tuesday, he says revitalization begins with the people who live here, and from there the hope for growth will spread like wildfire.
Grant says revitalizing the area won't be easy.
“I don't think we need to bulldoze all the old buildings that are not being used. But some of the buildings that are in disrepair, they don't have roofs on them and likely to fall any minute and they know should come down. But I would like to save as many old buildings as we can downtown,” said Grant.
Grant says the committee works well together and that's one reason downtown has a chance to grow.
