It's business as usual down at Country Crossing despite rumors of a possible raid by the governor's illegal gaming task force this weekend.
Those rumors were put to rest after the head of the task force, David Barber, resigned after recently winning $2,300 dollars at a legal casino in Mississippi
Late Friday, district attorney Doug Valeska sent a letter to Governor Riley asking him to quote "suspend any further involvement in Houston County".
Country Crossing officials say they’re happy that D.A. Valeska has stepped and say won't let this on-going saga dampen their grand opening celebration.
“We were made aware of Doug Valeska's letter to the governor last night, along with I think everyone else. We could not be happier with the decision he has made to bring some civility to the case to come inside and talk to our people and find out what we're doing in here, something that most everyone else has refused to do,” said Doug Rainer with Ronnie Gilley Properties.
Country Crossing has a full slate of musicians performing Sunday including Lo-Cash Cowboys and Lorrie Morgan.
