Florida Governor Charlie Crist recently signed a bill that mandates random testing for anabolic steroids for high school students.
Beginning this fall, a Florida Public High School student must have a waiver signed by a parent for them to compete in football, weightlifting, or baseball.
It will allow the state high school athletic association to perform a random test for anabolic steroids.
It calls for testing of only one-percent of those students participating in those sports.
The steroid testing will be done confidentially.
If a student tests positive, he or she will be suspended from all practices and games for 90-days.
