Reward Offered in Murder Investigation

Houston County Crimestoppers is offering a reward to help police solve the murder of a Dothan man.

A railroad crew found the body of 39-year-old Richard Smith Jr. lying near a dumpster off Stough Street Wednesday morning.

He had been shot to death.

Neighborhood residents say they heard gun-shots but reported nothing suspicious.

Investigators are following leads, but so far, they have not come up with a suspect or a motive for the killing.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
