Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

Dothan Police have made an arrest in an early Monday morning shooting after a body was found at a local restaurant.

Houston County coroner Robert Byrd said 25-year-old Shawntella Willis was slain in the parking lot behind Cracker Barrel in Dothan.

Monquaze Alexander Trawick was arrested and charged with murder.

According to Chief Powell the victim and the suspect have been going through a divorce for some time and there were children involved, who were under the custody of their mother.

Alexander Trawick came with his parents to the police station Monday afternoon and turned himself in.

He was arrested on an outstanding warrant and booked into the Dothan City Jail under a $5,000 bond.

Chief Powell was adamant in thanking the Houston County Sheriffs office and the media for their help in getting the word out to expedite this investigation.

Police urge anyone with any more information on the murder to call Crimestoppers at 793-7000.
