A line of severe storms moved across Alabama this morning, causing power outages and tree damage in several cities.
In Birmingham, at least 40,000 outages were reported -- along with numerous trees down in Hoover, Hueytown and other surrounding cities.
About 2200 more power outages were reported in East Alabama near Anniston. Officials say that number is likely to increase as the storms continue to move through.
In North Alabama, state troopers reported tree and power line damage in Lauderdale and Colbert counties.
Slick roadways also are causing wrecks.
