A shakedown at the Coffee County Jail gives Sheriff Dave Sutton a reason to be proud of what they didn't find.

"We went cell block by cell block, looking thoroughly for contraband or any type of weapon and I’m very happy to say that we found no contraband dealing with drug, drug paraphernalia and we found no makeshift weapons of any type,” says Sutton.

The Sheriff says last Wednesday’s results were a big improvement from his first shakedown three years ago when they found narcotics, crack cocaine and marijuana inside the jail.

Since then, he says they've revised their policies, corrections officers are better trained and they've added dogs to patrol the jail's perimeter.

Sutton says they try to do the inspections at least twice a year.
