Updated: Wed 10:36 AM, Aug 21, 2002

Nineteen-year-old Bryan Blount is accused of killing 35-year-old Raymond Jackson following an argument last November.

Witnesses told police Jackson criticized Blount for stealing from his own father. The two got into a skirmish.

Prosecutors said that's when Blount threatened to kill Jackson and made good on his promise.

The defense claims Blount did not intend to kill Jackson and fired only in self-defense. But after a 45-minute deliberation, the jury found Blount guilty.

Sentencing will be set at a later date. Blount faces up to life in prison.
For now, he's still being held in the Houston County Jail.
