MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama is about to experience another round of Republican presidential politics.
Arizona Senator John McCain is planning to be in Birmingham on June 15th and 16th. He will speak to a state Republican Party dinner on the 15th and attend a private fund-raiser on the 16th at the home of Jere and Lyda White.
Then Ann Romney -- the wife of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney -- will be in Birmingham on June 19th to attend a fund-raising reception at the home of Lee and Kelly Styslinger.
The Republican presidential politics comes after Birmingham gets a taste of Democratic politics. Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd is speaking to the Over the Mountain Democrats tomorrow night at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
Alabama's presidential primary is scheduled for February fifth. Alabama is continuing to experience a steady stream of presidential candidates or their spouses even though about a dozen states are planning to hold their primaries the same day as Alabama.
