Mark Dunning Industries of Brundidge is trying to collect more than $130,000 in unpaid garbage bills in Geneva County.
Adkison expects MDI to increase its fee once its current contract with Geneva County expires in October.
Mayor Karen Simmons and the council spoke against the tax.
They say the county needs to use enforcement power to get people to pay their garbage bills.
