Watching all those movies where a strong man wrestles an alligator must have paid off for 12-year-old Malcolm Locke and it probably saved his life Wednesday.
Locke was dragged underwater by a gator at a Deltona, Florida lake Wednesday, but he punched the 4-6 foot long animal until it loosened its jaws away from the child's head.
The 5 feet 4inch boy says he was swimming in the area's Lake Diana, when he noticed the alligator swimming his way.
After struggling through the attack Locke was able to get away from the gator and managed to attract a neighbor for help.
He’s recovering from his wounds at Florida hospital.
