A Eufaula native has been arrested in Northwest Florida for cattle rustling.
Cary Campbell is charged with theft of livestock. The 37-year-old allegedly loaded several cows into a trailer in the Bonnet Pond Community of Washington County.
Authorities say he then sold them at a livestock auction in Dothan.
Washington County Sheriff Fred Peel says Campbell confessed to taking the animals.
This is the first reported case of cattle rustling in the Panhandle in several years.
Money from the sale of the livestock has been recovered. Campbell was released from the Washington County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond.
