Two new names are thrown in the hat for the interim city manager position
Ed Vaughn, who has been instrumental in establishing the African American Historical District, says he thinks he's the right man for the job.
Vaughn tells News 4 the city has reached a stalemate and needs some leadership to help them work together.
Vaughn says he has no political ax to grind - he simply wants to help move the city forward.
Vaughn returned to Dothan a few years ago after serving four terms as a State Representative in Michigan. He also served as the executive assistant to the mayor of Detroit for nine years.
Also applying for the position of city manager is Dothan Police Chief John White.
White was appointed chief in August of 1994. In his application, White said quote - "I have been exposed to numerous situations and challenges which have allowed me to hone my personal communications and management skills."
Chief white was unavailable for comment.
