Dothan City Manager, Mike West, says the city's police department will begin cracking down on residents who don't follow the odd/even watering guidelines.
West says he's passed by houses that shouldn't be watering their yards. He says it's been an ongoing problem, but a problem the city will solve.
“It's important that people follow the restrictions we've laid out. In fact, to the point we'll begin monitoring neighborhoods starting at 4 o' clock in the morning and we'll be giving a warning initially but we need everyone to cooperate,” said West.
Customers who live at even home addresses are allowed to water lawns on Sundays and Wednesdays and Fridays.
Customers who live at odd addresses are allowed to water lawns on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Monday no one waters because the city's wells need to rest.
The watering scheduled began April 1st and will continue thru October 1st.
One well is down, and currently 21 million gallons of water is being pumped.
