With six months remaining in this year's fiscal budget, one Wiregrass city is far exceeding all revenue projections.
City Clerk Steven Hicks delivered the good news to the council. At the midway point of the 2004 budget, sales taxes are above projections by more than a half-million dollars.
The city's overall operating budget is $13-million. Hicks say the city is seeing an astronomical number of new businesses.
In addition, housing construction has nearly tripled in the last 12-months.
With revenue way up, Hicks says that Enterprise has raised its rainy day fund to nearly three million dollars, which will be used for emergency expenses.
