It takes a village at Southeast Alabama Medical Center to announce the money they have raised for the United Way.

The Medical Center is the first pacesetter to turn in their numbers -- a whopping $219,558.47.

Organizers said the numbers are good, considering last year most people gave to the Sept. 11 fund.

The United Way supports organizations such as the Wiregrass Area Food Bank, Red Cross and the Boys & Girls Club.
