Troy Special Olympics

The Special Olympics are back at Troy University after nearly two decades away.

About 700 athletes are expected to come to the city. The Special Olympics summer games will highlight 10 different summer sports.

The City of Troy marked the beginning of the games with the law enforcement torch run that started in downtown Troy, and ending at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

“We're proud to be in this. It's a great event. It's for a good cause. We're just happy to be a part of it,” said Chief Anthony Everage of Troy Police Department/
