A Northwest Florida man is in jail for allegedly threatening to let his pit bull loose on police officers.
The alleged incident occurred outside a Herring Avenue home in Marianna. That’s where authorities responded to a domestic disturbance call.
Once police arrived, reports indicate that David Lee Lang threatened to set the pit bull on them. After a brief "standoff," the 40-year-old suspect agreed to chain the dog.
Lang is charged with three-counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and three counts of resisting with violence. He is being held at the Jackson Correctional Facility on a $55,000 bond.
Records indicate that Lang has previously been arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer, in addition to robbery with a deadly weapon, and mischief with property damage.
