Chief Passes Bar

Dothan's police chief can now add the word "esquire" to his title; Chief John White has passed the state bar.

Chief White spent the last four years commuting to Montgomery in his spare time in order to earn his law degree from Faulkner University.

He says becoming a lawyer has been a dream since he was a young man. And while he wants to practice law at some point in the future, he says he plans to stay with the police force at this time.

White has been with the department for 31 years and of those years, 11 years he has served as chief.
