A man accused in a weekend shooting incident will make his first appearance in court today. 61-year-old Kato Wade is charged with assault first degree.
He’s accused of gunning another man down during an argument over a truck. The incident happened around 11:15 Saturday night on Greenhouse Road.
Investigators say the victim was able to drive a short distance to his mother's house on Gosha Road where he collapsed in the yard.
The victim, Demetrius Lee is listed in guarded condition at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Investigators say Lee was first struck in the head with a blunt object and then shot in the back of the neck with a .22 caliber rifle.
