Los Angeles police said they'll be talking to prosecutors about filing formal kidnapping charges in the Jessica Cortez case.
They've arrested a 34-year-old woman for allegedly taking four-year-old Jessica from a local park on Sunday.
Police identify the suspect as Patricia Cornejo, and they said she's considered the sole suspect in the case. Police said she showed up at a clinic with Jessica, who had apparently complained of a sore throat.
Acting LA Police Chief Martin Pomeroy told reporters police are still looking for a man witnesses saw near the child before her disappearance.
Pomeroy said they want to talk to him, but don't consider him a suspect.
The chief said Cornejo is believed to have two children of her own and may have a police record. He said a motive remains "a bit hazy," and that police will talk more with Jessica and the suspect.
Pomeroy said Jessica is "just fine," and wasn't assaulted in any way. He also credits the "good people" at the clinic for recognizing the missing girl and alerting authorities.
