DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are warning 500 residents near the Volusia-Flagler county line that they may have to evacuate their homes Monday because of a fast-moving brush fire.
The 65-hundred acre fire was being fueled by dry conditions and gusty winds as it moved toward the southwest.
Forecasters say the fire may start growing as it heads toward the Rima Ridge and Plantation Pines subdivisions near the county lines.
Governor Charlie Crist has declared a state of emergency because of the persistent wildfire threat.
