Sharks Gather at St. Andrews Bay

Not much to do but stand back and watch as bull sharks gather in some water in the Florida Panhandle.

State wildlife experts said they've never seen sharks gather in an area where water salinity is so low.

It's taking place near the Deer Point Lake Dam, where fresh water comes over the spillway. But bull sharks, known to be deadly to humans, are one of the few shark species that can tolerate brackish or fresh water.

Officials said swimmers should avoid schools of small fish and reflective jewelry that can be mistaken for fish.
