A special property tax referendum scheduled for Dothan in six weeks will now include three counties.
The Dothan City School Board asked the Houston County Commission last month to hold a special vote on Sept. 10 on a three mill property tax increase.
Some questions were asked about those Dothan residents that live in Dale County and Henry County.
Monday night the board approved resolutions asking both counties to include their Dothan residents in the vote.
The addition of Dale and Henry County will not be financially significant but it will mean that all Dothan residents are included.
In other action, the board voted to rename East Highland Learning Center. The alternative school is moving from East Highland to the old Wilson Street School building.
It will be called the PASS Academy (Providing Alternative Student Services).
We would like your comments and thoughts on the property tax vote set for Sept. 10. We will share your concerns during a live broadcast Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Please e-mail your comments to: Al Roberts.
