Enterprise city school Superintendent, Dr. Jim Reese, says FEMA has placed a 20-percent damage rating for Hillcrest Elementary.
The school was adjacent to Enterprise High, which was destroyed by the March 1st tornado.
Dr. Reese says the rating must be at least 50-percent destruction before FEMA will allocate funds to build a new school.
At this time, the local district has called in several independent firms to do an overall study of the damage.
Under school board plans, Hillcrest will remain on east Watts Street, a new facility is expected to cost in the neighborhood of 12-to-15 million dollars.
