More than 3,000 people spent the day at Eastgate Park in Dothan to celebrate Older American's Day.
The observance continues throughout the month of May.
This is the first event in Alabama to take place this month.
It pays tribute to those 60-years of age and older for contributions they've made to their various communities.
Organizers say this is the perfect event for seniors, especially those who do not often get the chance to socialize.
The Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging or SARCOA has hosted the event for more than 20-years.
