ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - Fifty-two Auburn University student-athletes demolished two tornado-wrecked houses in Enterprise Saturday.
The homes were destroyed by the March First twister that struck Enterprise High School, killing eight students.
-U's director of community relations and spirit Latisha Durroh organized the trip with Sydney Hoffman, a community relations representative from the governor's office.
The volunteers swinging sledgehammers included the entire AU women's basketball coaching staff and representatives from the athletic department.
In a statement, Auburn head coach Nell Fortner says team members were at the SEC Tournament when the tornado hit and were very aware of what was going on. She says they knew right away that they wanted to do something to help Enterprise.
