Ten thousand dollars worth of marijuana is now off the streets, and police say the owners of the illegal drugs are behind bars.
Police arrested 30-year old Jammy Cliff Garrott and 42-year-old Gloria James, both of Montgomery and charged them with trafficking marijuana.
James is also charged with possession of a controlled substance after police say they found ecstasy in her purse.
Wiregrass Drug and Task Force officers along with the Midland City Police found the drugs after noticing a smell coming from the car.
“Police are working real hard to ensure our community is drug-free, especially keeping the drugs out of the children's hand. So it's a good feeling to know that something positive came [of] what was basically a simple traffic stop,” said Chief Tony Spivey of Ozark Police Department.
Both Garrott and James are being held in the Dale County Jail.
Garrott's bond is $50,000 dollars and James's bond is $51,000.
