Dennis Matthew Snell is alleged to have attacked a store clerk in Northern Holmes County for no reason. For nearly a week, police had been on the lookout for Snell.
Over the weekend, he also reportedly led Enterprise and several other law enforcement agencies on a high-speed pursuit. After crashing his vehicle, Snell took off in the woods near the town of Clayhatchee.
On the afternoon of the chase, Johnny Barrentine looked out the window of his mobile home in a Daleville mobile home park. That's when he spotted Snell running between two trailers. After seeing a picture of Snell on News 4, he tackled the suspect and held him until authorities arrived on the scene.
Snell is being held in the Daleville City Jail on several minor charges but he will be extradited to Florida where he'll most likely face aggravated assault on the store clerk.
