Country crossing developer Ronnie Gilley “took it to the nation” today when he spent some time on the fox news network. As news 4's Rhiana Huckins tells us it was a chance for Gilley to step away from the bingo controversy

"We're improvising and adapting."

That's what Gilley had to say to Fox News correspondent Neil Cavuto about the creation of country crossing.

The developer explained the business aspect of the project and the anticipated benefits.

"Our national economy is expected to retract up to 4 percent over the next 12 months. We anticipate creating an excess of over 5 billion dollars in new sales revenue over the next 5 years."

During an internet broadcast on Fox News' *happy hour* Gilley says there was some political talk.

He explained that despite Governor Bob Riley's feelings on electronic bingo in the state, a monopoly will be created if only the Indians are allowed to have it and others don't.

Gilley also explained how country crossing is the largest private investment in Alabama and he's not about to ask the government for any help.

"We're not asking the taxpayers to pay for anything else, and we are certainly not asking our state or federal government for money they don't have."

"Build it and they will come. We are creating jobs."

Tuesday Alabama attorney general troy king announced he is now seeking input from district attorneys across the state on the electronic bingo issue.

A Supreme Court ruling involving electronic bingo at white hall is questioning the legality of electronic bingo machines.

Houston county district attorney Doug Valeska was unavailable for comment on the issue today.

Meanwhile, today during the Alabama Baptist Convention, a resolution was passed condemning electronic bingo.

Those Baptists in attendance say gambling is predatory in nature and plays on the weaknesses of the state's citizens.
