Authorities are trying to determine what caused a small plane to crash into a swamp north of Blue Mountain Beach that took off from the Destin Airport.
The pilot, 47-year-old David Gerald Naber of Niceville, died in the Wednesday crash.
Authorities believe thunderstorms in the area may have contributed to the crash. The plane flipped and was crushing Naber beneath its weight and burying his body in about two feet deep in the mud.
