PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Two Escambia County, Florida deputies have been fired and accused of using excessive force in separate cases.

Norman Frye and Christian Coad were both fired Wednesday and could face criminal charges.

Sheriff Ron McNesby says Frye is suspected of using a Taser stun gun on a woman while she was handcuffed on February 3rd. Coad was caught on his patrol car's video camera slapping a man on the head while the man was face down on the ground April 5th.

Both men were hired in 2004.

Coad's attorney says his client will appeal the firing.
