Authorities are still trying to figure out why a Wiregrass man allegedly killed his own son. The fatal shooting happened around midnight Saturday at an Enterprise apartment complex.
Police say there was an ongoing dispute that night between the suspect, Wilson Baldwin and the victim.
The 54-year-old Baldwin remains "behind bars" without bond at the Coffee County Jail. He's charged with an open count of murder.
Baldwin reportedly picked-up a nine millimeter handgun and shot it directly into the face of his son, Ponce Deleon Baldwin. The 34-year-old died instantly after being shot.
Two people who were inside ran to a neighbor's apartment to call for help.
Both the suspect and the victim lived at the residence....
Besides Enterprise police, several other local and state agencies are involved in the investigation.
The younger Baldwin’s body has been sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile for an autopsy. The full results may take several weeks.
