PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A man arrested in Alabama faces federal charges of stealing the identities of dozens of Florida Panhandle military members.

An indictment alleges Ryan Rockmore, arrested in Montgomery, attempted to use the identities of 51 service members in fraudulent financial transactions with a California-based company.

He faces charges of aggravated identity theft and mail fraud and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years if convicted of the charges.

A federal indictment says most of the victims were assigned to Hurlburt Field, and some reside in Navarre and Milton. Others reside in Fort Walton Beach, Mary Esther, Niceville and Crestview.

The U.S Attorney's Office says the company is not implicated in the allegations and cooperated with investigators.
