For months, students around Houston County have been giving suggestions on how to make education better.
Recommendations include involving students more at the high school level in the decision making process.
Students also said school systems should look at the relevance of courses and instruction and make it more meaningful.
Other recommendations include, bringing back the arts to all area public schools at all grade levels.
Also, school systems should reconsider the block schedule which doesn't seem to be working.
Thomas Harrison says, “We're hoping all the work the task force has done will help our school have meaningful change and help how our schools do business.”
The task force has given a copy of the recommendations to the Dothan and Houston County superintendents to look over and aid in future plans for local education.
