King Solomon Award

A Houston County judge was honored in Montgomery by the state's highest official.

Alabama Gov. Bob Riley presented Judge Jerry White with the first ever "King Solomon Award” as VOCAL's judge of the year. Vocal stands for Victims of Crime and Leniency.

The victims rights group created the award to recognize Alabama judges for exceptional service to the state justice system and contributions to the legal profession.

Judge White was first a district attorney and retired as a judge in 1989, but he volunteered his time and returned to the bench four-years ago.
