Tarrant High Holds Memorial for Slain Student

TARRANT, Ala. (AP) - Tarrant High School students held a memorial, releasing hundreds of white balloons yesterday in memory of a slain classmate.

Principal Andrew Smith says the memorial was for 18-year-old Tarrant High senior Seth Ollison. His funeral is today in Warrior.

Ollison was shot to death Tuesday evening.

Tarrant police have arrested and charged 18-year-old Christopher Keith Rhodes, and 19-year-old Alphones Lemark Carlton, with Ollison's murder.

The Tarrant principal says the arrests and the memorial have really aided in the healing process.

The memorial also included a poem written and read by a female classmate and a short speech by Smith, who encouraged the students
to look beyond the tragedy.

Ollison's funeral is 1 p.m at the Old Warrior Middle School on Popular Street in Warrior.
