PRICHARD, Ala. (AP) - Two men have been arrested and charged in a robbery at a Prichard bank where a guard was shot in the leg in a spray of rifle fire.

Police say 40-year-old Rayford Rivers, and 25-year-old LeAnthony Lee Bettis, were arrested Friday and both charged with first-degree robbery of the Commonwealth National Bank.

FBI agent Michael Beauford said more charges may be filed.

The bank guard, 34-year-old Emanuel Mose, who was wounded in the Thursday morning shooting, was in good condition at a Mobile hospital.

Prichard Police Major Marvin Whitfield says Bettis was arrested after a brief foot chase in Prichard and Rivers was arrested in Chickasaw, still in the blue pickup truck used in the robbery getaway.

Both men have prior convictions, according to court records.

Two other bank robberies occurred in Mobile this week.

Police say 26-year-old Charles Padgett of Spanish Fort was arrested and charged Friday within hours of a 9 a.m. robbery of a Regions Bank branch in Mobile.

A search continued for a man who robbed another Regions branch on Wednesday, claiming he had a bomb. He left a package on the counter in the bank, but no bomb was found.
