A father is accused of firing a handgun near the head of his 15-year-old son as punishment for stealing his marijuana.
Authorities say Sean Stewart of Bonifay tied the boy's neck to a post in the family barn.
That’s when the 39-year-old suspect reportedly fired several shots in the direction of his son's head before leaving. The teenager was able to free himself and call police.
Holmes County deputies say they did find evidence that the boy was tied around the neck, hands and feet.
Stewart faces several charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and child abuse. He’s been released from the Holmes County Jail on a $31,000 bond.
