Work Release Program

The Houston County community corrections department has come up with a new way to help work release inmates. The department is now sponsoring a certified mentoring program.

Volunteers will be trained to form a support group and work "one-on-one" with non-violent offenders. The goal is to help inmates become productive members of society.

Eighty-five inmates are currently assigned to the Houston County Community Corrections Program. About 15 mentors have already signed up for training.
