Northwest Florida authorities are looking for clues to the apparent murder of a teenager in Chipley.
Monday night, the body of a young man was found lying along the banks of an Old Cypress Pond, located in a desolate area off the Chipley-Campbellton Highway.
The landowner found the body and immediately contacted authorities.
It's believed the teenager had been there for two to four days.
Although the victim's identity has not been released, authorities suspect it's someone from Washington County.
Chipley Police Chief Kevin Crews said, “We’re still in the process of gathering physical evidence at the scene. We are treating it as a homicide."
An autopsy was performed late Tuesday afternoon in Panama City. The results have not been released.
